Rene Sandy Diaz

Administrative Associate to the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Sandy joins The Cooper Union as Administrative Associate for the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. He has accrued progressive student and academic affairs experience at both New York University (Program Administrator) and Touro University (Administrative and Student Affairs Manager).

While at NYU, Sandy earned his Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Ever-curious of the people and world around him, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hunter College. Born in the Dominican Republic, he currently lives in the Bronx with his (four-legged) daughter Perrie. 

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
